Garden maintenance & lawn mowing in Guildford & Surrey

Weekly, fortnightly or monthly visits: mowing, edging, weeding and keeping borders in shape. Done carefully, and left tidy every time.

Regular visits to keep your lawn mown, the edges sharp and your borders in shape. Or a one-off visit when the garden needs catching up.

What's included

A typical maintenance visit covers:

  • Mowing the lawn
  • Edging, so the lawn edges stay crisp
  • Weeding beds and borders
  • Keeping borders in shape
  • Cuttings dealt with and paths swept before we leave

Because we charge by the hour, a visit can also include whatever else the garden needs at the time: a hedge trim, leaf clearance or a general tidy-up.

How often?

Weekly

For gardens with a lot to keep on top of, such as a big lawn while it's growing fast.

Fortnightly

Regular mowing and weeding without a visit every week.

Monthly

For gardens that mainly need keeping neat and under control.

Every visit is booked for at least 4 hours, so for a smaller garden, fortnightly or monthly visits usually give you better value than weekly ones. One-off visits are fine too.

How it's priced

  • Labour at £28 per person per hour, the same rate as all our work. We're not VAT registered, so there's no VAT to add.
  • Each visit is at least half a day (4 hours). With one person that's £112 a visit; with two of us it's £224.
  • Any materials, such as lawn feed, are charged at cost with no markup and paid before the job.
  • Grass cuttings and other green waste can go in your garden waste bin, or we can take them away: tip runs are £20 each plus the disposal site's fees, charged at cost.
  • You'll get a free estimate before any work starts, with everything listed.

What affects the time

  • The size of the lawn, and how long the grass has got since the last cut.
  • How many beds, borders and edges there are.
  • How much weeding there is.
  • Access: steps, slopes and narrow gates all add time.
  • Where the cuttings go: your garden waste bin, or taken away.

A first visit to a garden that's got away from you usually takes longer than the regular visits after it.

What to expect

  • We work Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and we turn up when we say we will.
  • Everything is left tidy: paths swept, edges finished and cuttings dealt with before we leave.
  • If the weather stops us, we'll rebook you at the next free slot, at no charge.
  • If you need to cancel a visit, there's no charge.
  • Payment is due within 7 days, by bank transfer or cash.

Garden maintenance questions

Can I book a one-off visit?

Yes. One-off jobs and regular visits are both fine. Bookings start at 4 hours either way.

How much does a visit cost?

We charge £28 per person per hour, and each visit is at least 4 hours: £112 with one person, or £224 if two of us come. Longer visits are charged at the same hourly rate, and there's no VAT to add.

Do you work at weekends?

No. We work Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. Messages sent outside those hours are answered the next working day.

My garden is overgrown. Where do we start?

Usually with a tidy-up, or a heavy clearance if it's badly overgrown. Then regular visits keep it that way.
