These terms apply to all the work we do for you. Nothing in them affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Prices and estimates
We charge £28 per person per hour, the same rate for every job. Pressure washing adds £15 per hour for each machine running.
Before any work starts, we'll give you an estimate with everything listed: how long we expect the job to take and how many of us will do it, plus any materials and tip runs. Estimates are valid for 30 days.
We're not VAT registered, so there's no VAT to add.
Minimum booking
Bookings start at half a day (4 hours). If your job is smaller than that, we can combine it with other work, such as a hedge trim or a tidy-up, so you get the most from the visit.
Materials
Materials such as seed and feed are charged at cost, with no markup. You pay for them before the job.
Garden waste
We're a registered lower-tier waste carrier (registration CBDL662169). That means we can take away the green waste from our own work, but not rubble, soil, household items, or piles of waste that were already there.
Green waste from your job can be:
- chipped with our small wood chipper, to use as mulch on your borders
- bagged for your garden waste bin
- taken away, at £20 per tip run plus the disposal site's fees, charged at cost.
Bad weather
If the weather stops us working, we'll rebook you at the next free slot. There's no charge.
If you need to cancel or rearrange
Just let us know. There's no charge for cancelling. This is in addition to your legal right to cancel, explained below.
Payment
Payment is due within 7 days, by bank transfer or cash. Our bank details are on your invoice.
Access and safety
- Please make sure we can get to the garden and the work on the day: gates unlocked, and cars moved if we're working on a driveway.
- For pressure washing, we'll need an outside tap we can connect to.
- Tell us about anything we should know, such as hidden hazards, anything fragile, or pets that use the garden.
- Please keep children and pets away from the area while we're working with machinery.
- Before cutting a hedge, we check it for active birds' nests. Any section with an active nest is left, as it's an offence to damage or destroy a nest in use (Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981).
Your right to cancel
If you're a consumer and you agree the work with us at your home, or by phone, email, text or online, you have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days without giving any reason. This right comes from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
- How long you have: the cancellation period ends 14 days after the day the contract is agreed.
- How to cancel: tell us clearly, for example by email, text or letter, using the contact details above. You can use the model cancellation form below, but you don't have to. You just need to send your message before the 14 days are up.
- If you'd like us to start sooner: we won't start work within the 14 days unless you ask us to. If you do, please ask in writing (an email or text is fine).
- If you cancel after we've started: if you asked us to start within the 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the work done up to the point you tell us you're cancelling.
- Once the work is finished: if we've fully completed the work at your request within the 14 days, you no longer have the right to cancel. When you ask us to start early, we'll ask you to confirm you understand this.
- Refunds: if you cancel, we'll refund any money you've paid us, less the cost of any work already done at your request, within 14 days of you telling us.
