Autumn leaf clearance and full garden tidy-ups to get things back under control, with everything left neat before we go.
Leaf clearance
Leaves left lying on a lawn block out light and hold moisture against the grass, which can leave yellow or bare patches. On paths, patios and steps, wet leaves get slippery.
- Lawns cleared
- Beds and borders cleared around your plants
- Paths, patios, steps and driveways cleared
- Leaves bagged for your garden waste bin, left for you to compost, or taken away
Leaves come down over several weeks, so a clearance in mid-autumn and another once the trees are bare often works better than a single visit.
Garden tidy-ups
For a garden that's got away from you, whether after a busy summer or one you've just taken on. A tidy-up can include:
- Cutting back overgrown growth
- Weeding beds, borders and paths
- Mowing and edging the lawn
- A hedge trim
- Clearing leaves and fallen twigs
Badly overgrown, with brambles, ivy or long grass taking over? That's a job for a heavy garden clearance.
Once it's back under control, regular visits can keep it that way.
Leaves, cuttings and waste
We're a registered waste carrier (CBDL662169) for the green waste from our own work. Woody cuttings can be chipped as mulch for your borders, and leaves and cuttings can be bagged for your garden waste bin. If you'd rather we take it all away, tip runs are £20 each plus the disposal site's fees, charged at cost.
Rubble, soil, household items, or piles of garden waste that were there before we arrived.
How it's priced
- Labour at £28 per person per hour, the same rate as all our work. We're not VAT registered, so there's no VAT to add.
- Bookings start at 4 hours. A clearance combines well with a hedge trim or a lawn renovation on the same visit.
- You'll get a free estimate before any work starts, with everything listed.
What affects the time
- The size of the garden, and how many trees drop their leaves on it.
- Wet leaves are heavier and slower to clear than dry ones.
- Leaves in gravel, borders and around plants take longer than leaves on a lawn.
- How overgrown the garden is.
- How much waste there is, and where it's going.
Leaf clearance and tidy-up questions
Can you take away leaves or garden waste I've already piled up?
No. Our waste carrier registration covers the green waste from our own work only, so we can't take away existing piles, rubble, soil or household items.
How often should leaves be cleared?
It depends on how many trees are around you. Leaves fall over several weeks, so one visit in mid-autumn and another once the trees are bare often works well.
Can you combine a clearance with other jobs?
Yes, and it's a good way to use a half-day booking: for example, leaf clearance with a hedge trim, or a tidy-up before an autumn lawn renovation.
